Rating by category:
we liked the fact that the Hotel was quiet and were impressed by the staff. We also liked the huge range of food we could have for breakfast.
Close access to Te Papa, beach, marina, Courtney Place, Restaurants, waterfront walkway and supermarket
The noise front the trucks across the road pulling in to unload and load for the supermarket
The best thing that I liked during my stay at Bay Plaza Hotel was the wonderfully friendly staff. What a pleasure !!!
I couldn't find any maps or bus information in the room on how to get to the Beehive.
Handy location to Te Papa and downtown and rerasonably priced
the room I had on the 6th floor smelt of rising damp. You could smell it on the landing and the room, especialy the bathroom, even worse. Would not stay there again because of this and is the reason i marked comfort as fair. Place needs an upgrade, dated, dowdy.
Good meals at a reasonable price great staff Handy to theatres
Rooms and TV could do with upgrade
Convenient location and well priced rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff helpful. Excellant value for money
Its a bit tired needs a refurbish.
excellent strak and salad in the restaurant. also a good but modest range of beer and wine great location, close to town
Nice atmosphere and an enjoyable pleasant place to stay
Parking- drove in and there we were- no worries about this. 24 hour desk service, and a lovely lady on the desk. We were able to put our things away, and then just walk into Courtenay Place to enjoy the nightlife. We ended up at Downstage for Saturday night show- and so easy to walk back to Plaza later. Loved being able to go down for breakfast next morning, with options of breakfast deals.
Very close to Courtenay Place and all the bars and restaurants.
Close to city
Old Fridge made too much noise at night. So we had to turn it off at bed time. TV screen too small and old. Gurgling water sounds from ceiling annoying at night. Would only recommend going if the room was on a lower level.
Very central to Wellington city and waterfront attractions. Car parking on site and close to buses. Staff helpful solving a problem
Some lights not working in bathroom
Location was ok
It was very basic, not very clean, old TV and a kettle that did not work very well. We paid $207 per night which did not represent value for money. Overall very poor quality and more like a very cheap budget hotel. Would not recommend to anyone else unless a revamp had taken place.
I chose the hotel for its position, ease of travel, views of the harbour.
Loved the view out of my window. The bathroom was lovely, as was the bedroom. My room had everything I required and more. I thought the wee sitting/lounging area was well placed for the afternoon sun.
No all good :-)
